Mail Bag! Strange and Unusual Owl Crate Unboxing
One of my loves outside of horror movies is reading. I love fantasy, horror, contemporary, sci-fi. I'll basically read anything I can get my hands on. One of the things I love a lot is Young Adult fiction, especially fantasy or contemporary. It's a nice little escape for my brain. Last year I signed up with Owl Crate and monthly I receive their boxes. It's a great service and each box is filled to the brim with book goodies. You always get one young adult book, and then anything you can imagine like candles, tea, stickers, art, towels, tote bags etc.
Owl Crate's July box theme was Strange and Unusual and I wanted to share the box with you as it falls under the spooky genre. I also just love Owl Crate and want to recommend them to you dear readers. But keep in mind, each month is a different theme so it's absolutely not a horror themed box every time.
So let's have a look!
Every box comes with a little booklet that has interviews with the author, facts about the creators, a crossword and great book recommendations. It also comes with a print of the art theme for the month and a little pin with some of that art on it. This has been my favorite themed art so far.
On the left, some spooky push pins which are great for my office. In the center is an adorable Luna Lovegood sticker created by TJ Lubrano. And on the bottom we have Ouija Board Mints. The mints inside are in the shape of the planchette. Plus, once the mints are done, I have a cute little tin to carry stuff in.
Next up is a beautiful pennant flag inspired by Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I fully support this message. The next item is a beautiful wallet inspired by the Raven Cycle trilogy (which is a beautiful dark fantasy story I implore all of you to read) and has a quote from the series on it: "The head is too wise. The heart is all fire."
Here's the book! My Plain Jane written by best friend trio, Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, and Jodi Meadows. My Plain Jane is a retelling of Jane Eyre featuring ghosts and the Victorian world of the occult. Owl Crate releases an exclusive edition of every book they put out ensuring that you get a great cover that you can be snobbish about having a limited copy. The books always come signed as well which is really special.
Last, but not least, is a Stranger Things keychain featuring everyone's favorite nose bleeder - Eleven. And an incredibly dreamy art print by Aun-Juli Riddle.
