Horror News Roundup - Slaughterhouse Rulez, Grady Hendrix, AHS and more!
WEEKLY NEWS ROUND UP
The world is basically on fire ya'll. Everywhere is a heat wave and forest fires are burning everything up. Apocolyptic times are almost upon us. So what better way to prepare than to continue watching horror movies and pretendinge verything is fine!
I've got your weekly news roundup in one digestible bite down below.
Let's jump in!
First up is the trailer for the new Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's flick, Slaughterhouse Rulez. These two are obviously known for their incredible flicks like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Now we've got a new one to look forward to that seems to keep up with the others. We've got gore, we've got comedy, we've got fast paced dialogue. It's going to be amazing!!
It's about an English private school that sells off part of its land to a fracking company. The company then unleashes a monster that terrorizes the school and its inhabitants.
No North American release date yet but it will be out in the UK on Halloween!
Check out the trailer below:
Skinwalker Ranch is known to paranormal enthusiasts around the world as one of the most bizarre places in the world. Located in Utah, the ranch is the most studied hot spot in history. From aliens to ghosts to cattle mutilation, there's something weird going on over there. And now we're getting an awesome looking documentary by director Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell. He'll be exploring the legend in the upcoming film Hunt for the Skinwalker and it apparently features unreleased footage and interviews that will help sort out what's really going on over there.
Hunt for the Skinwalker will release digitally on September 11th and you can pre-order right now through Vimeo.
Check out the trailer below:
Grady Hendrix is one of my favorite new horror authors. I've read Horrorstor and My Best Friend's Exorcism and loved them both. He's only just getting started and he's also a huge horror fan. He just released a nonfiction book about old horror novel covers called Paperbacks from Hell. His first published novel, Satanic Panic, is now being made into a movie! And I'm absolutely thrilled for him.
The concept of Satanic Panic is a pizza delivery girl who has run out of money and fighting for her life, and her tips, when her last order of the night turns out to be high society Satanists. Oh, and they need a virgin sacrifice.
Chelsea Stardust will be directing (HOORAY!!!) and the script was written by Hendrix himself and Ted Geoghegan.
It should be incredible and I'll keep you updated as the film progresses.
American Horror Story is back soon and personally I cannot wait to watch the first four episodes and then give up completely just like I do every year. This time around we've got AHS Apocalypse and a teaser trailer that shows us nothing but looks super pretty. But we're used to that when it comes to this show.
Ryan Murphy tweeted this week and let us know that Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Stevie Nicks are all COMING BACK! That's because this season will be a mashup of murder house and coven. Oh and if you're curious about our favorite leading lady....Jessica Lange will absolutely be reprising her Murder House character Constance Langdon.
I MEAN HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS!!!
Favorites Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Billy Eichner and Billie Lourde will also be returning.
This season is going to be INSANE!!!
Weekly News Tidbits:
- New Stephen King adaptation has been announced. This one will be based on his short story In The Tall Grass written by him and Joe Hill. Vincenzo Natali (Hannibal) will be directing for Netflix. Patrick Wilson will star.
- Nick Castle is reprising his role as Michael Myers in the new Halloween film, but stuntman James Jude Courtney will also be playing him. He's been sharing some great behind the scenes photos over on twitter. Check them out here.
- We got some exclusive images from The Nun over at Empire. The Nun will be in the same universe as The Conjuring and will tell the terrifying origin story of the creepy nun that haunted The Conjuring 2. It will hit theaters September 7th.
