Today we’re diving into the world of fashionistas in horror. The Top 5 most fashionable villains! Bringing the saying “if looks could kill” to a whole new level. Let’s check out who our fashion divas are:
American Psycho – Patrick Bateman
The 80’s in New York. Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman. Suits, suits, suits and tiny underwear. Does it get more fabulous than this? No, it does not. Bateman surrounds himself with wealth and takes impeccable pride in the way he presents himself to the world. His closet is Valentino, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Burberry, Tom Ford, Ray Bans. And don’t forget his incredibly expensive skin care routine.
Bateman has inspired generations of folks to dress as stylishly as this psychopath. And I’ll never look at a business card the same way again. You can find articles all over the place like “5 beauty secrets from real life Batemans” or “how to dress like American Psycho”.
The 80’s was a time where business men were able to start getting more creative and were encouraged to pay more attention to their appearance. Men’s high fashion came into play and grooming products for men flooded the market.
Patrick Bateman is a trendsetter and a maniac. And we love him for it.
The Lost Boys – David
I mean…what girl and boy didn’t crush on David when they first saw The Lost Boys? Hell, I’m still crushing on him. David was 80’s goth to perfection, and a real vampire to boot. His hair was always perfectly tousled into a bleached blonde mullet and he had that beard to top it off. He peacocked around in a leather duster coat, combats boots, black leather gloves and just one dangling earing.
And sure, he was turning people into vampires which isn’t great – but he was only choosing good looking people to turn and put in his gang. So….I mean….it’s not that bad right?
His sultry voice, piercing eyes, and multiple layers of black will ALWAYS be in style. And now that we’re having an 80’s renaissance, David is the one we should all follow for fashion advice.
Crimson Peak itself should really be the best dressed villain. But the lady of the house, Lucille, is the clear winner. Gliding around a decrepit mansion in beautiful gowns, acting mysterious and hysterical, PERFECTION. She mostly has her hair in the style of the day – a classy up do, but near the end she lets her long beautiful locks flow free.
Her gowns of choice are tight bodice velvet looking dresses. To the funeral she wears a beautiful black gown with a giant ruffle down the back. To the party she has a gorgeous deep red gown with a very dramatic long trail. And even at the end when she’s shown her true colors, she wears a white off the shoulder loose gown that somehow still makes her like a princess.
Hocus Pocus – The Sanderson Sisters
Sarah, Winnie and Mary are absolute fashion icons. They are raggedy, layered, witchy queens. All of us as little kids wanted to dress like them, and even to this day if I put on a long dress…I feel like Sarah.
Sarah wore a corseted blouse with a flowy skirt in strips of fabric. Winnie wore that gorgeous coat over a collared dress. And Mary had the plaid flowy skirt with the red corset and cape over top.
CATEGORY IS: Capes, brooms, messy rats nest like hair….ICONIC.
Bram Stoker’s Dracula – Vlad Dracula
Dracula has always been impeccably dressed. He’s a swoony, dapper villain in every rendition. But he was never as classy as he was in Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Victorian grey – a three-piece suit, a top hat, round glasses, and a cane. Vlad was ready to walk the runway at any moment. All of the costumes in this flick of course were incredible. But this is all about the villains.
Vlad also appears in a red dressing gown cloak situation. Serving Victorian Hugh Hefner realness, honey. And then there’s his red beetle looking armor that he goes into battle with. I mean…he’s going to stand out on the battlefield for sure. Bright red armor? Ooop….there’s Dracula! It looks terribly uncomfortable but also super extra which is why Dracula is on this list.

Bride of Chucky – Tiffany
A wedding dress and a leather jacket? BAD ASS. Bleached blonde hair with the roots showing, painted talon like nails. Courtney Love is shaking in her boots.
Labyrinth – Jareth
Ah, the Goblin King. Tight leggings, giant hair, spiky bangs, leather gloves and coats. Pure diva realness.
