NaNoWriMo 2020 - 30 days, 50,000 words, and 3 guys out of their minds
NaNoWriMo 2020 – Week 4
Well friends, it looks like this will be the 1st time in 3 years I won’t be getting that cool NaNoWriMo winner banner. I am going to try to work on the project, but it just didn’t flow this year. The hardest part is being okay with it. I (like a lot of you, I’m sure) put way too much pressure on myself, and while I am disappointed in not crossing the finish line this year, I am very happy and proud of the other writers that are participating and churning out those word counts. The page will be there, the story will be told, I just have to be okay with it not being by November 30th this year. I’m going to turn it over to Joe and Bud, they’re on fire right now and look forward to reading their stories.

Closing in on 40,000 words and still feeling good. If this month has taught me anything it’s that if needed, I can write quickly. Early on I was stuck writing in 1000 word bursts, but after writing 1000 words in the morning and another 1000 words at night I realized that the story was flowing out of me a little faster than most stories do. This week I also had an idea for a themed anthology call that ends soon. And I wanted to get that story written as well as keep going forward with Nanowrimo. I was able to get both done and am really surprised at the amount of words I was able to get done this week. Overall I think doing this Nanowrimo has been helpful to me and made me stretch my writing muscles to get a little bit more done than I thought I could get done in such a short amount of time.
Until next week....

I’m behind and I’m not happy about it. 32k words and a headache caused me to miss a day. Now I am going to spend 12 hours in the car to spend a week at my brother’s house in a house with 20 kids.
Writing is going to be tough, I planned on getting ahead but I failed to do so. Hopefully, I am able get at least the minimum 1,667 words done per day while I am down there, which will give me two days at the end of the month for any catch up.
In better news, the soundtrack to this thing is going to be fucking killer! Lots of soul, jazz, and blues each with a little twist of the occult. The most notable song has been There is a Fountain Filled With Blood by Aretha Franklin which is probably the scariest gospel song I’ve ever heard.
Wish me luck over the thanksgiving holiday!
