So, you may not know me yet but I'm a huge horror and gore fan. The more blood the better. And in this book Grotesque Monster Stories by Lee Murray, I was not disappointed. This is a terrifying collection of 11 stories that range from ancient myths to futuristic monsters.

The stories had such a huge difference between them it was almost refreshing. I know that whenever I am in a reading slump and I can't get into a huge novel, I pick up some short stories that peak my interest so that my mind feels accomplished and then I feel ready to dive into a huge book.

I would definitely recommend this book for someone who is ready to read a different kind of story. One of my top favorites was a story about people being fused together or to another object and having to learn to do things with this deformity. Totally different, right?! Another favorite was a zombie apocalypse from a virus and having a major choice. Would you choose to shoot someone to save them from being eaten by zombies, or save your bullet in case you need it later? Be selfish or not?

These stories made me want to read more. I was sad to see a few of them end. When a story is terrifically terrifying and makes me want more, that’s a win for me. I will be looking into reading more of Lee Murray books.
