Zeke Reviews The Ghosts of Brisbane by Christopher Zisi
I have one word for this book. Exploitation! Many of you are familiar with Christopher Zisi because of his B movie and exploitative movie reviews. But Chris is also a horror fiction author as well. In this book both his love for exploitation and his experience in the FBI are soaked all over the pages.
Brisbane, Australia is a wreck. All of its beauty has faded and the people who reside there are scum. Oh, and let’s not forget the disaster left behind by ungodly scientific forces. What are these forces? Nope, not going to spoil the book for you, haha. The city needs to be cleaned up and the beautiful Talon Goh is the woman to do it. She is hired by an agency that is bent on ruling the world. There is a lot of mystery behind this agency and some real shady stuff going on. As Goh gets neck deep into it all, things go South quick.
Talon Goh is not used to losing…or failing. However, Brisbane has different plans for Goh. For the first time in her life, she fails in her mission. This failure brought with it degrading rape, captivity, and brutal violence and torture. Goh is pushed to the extreme but never loses her fighting spirit. There are some very memorable characters in this book. Most of them you will hate! And that is a good thing because you want to see Goh give them what they deserve. There are also very memorable scenes which will make you squirm, gross you out, or make you shout, “Yes…wait…no…wait…yes!”
If you love exploitation movies, this book is for you. Also, if you like your horror full of action, you need to look no further. Once Zisi gets the ball rolling, he doesn’t let up. If you want to find out the fate of the Asian mercenary Talon Goh, grab a copy of it today!
