Coffin Shadows - Classic Horror
Before we jump in to the particulars of the book, can we take a moment to judge a book by its cover?
This cover has classic horror novel written all over it. I was immediately drawn to the hearse and smoke. Horror books have definitely stepped it up lately with the covers. I totally justify picking a book solely by the cover.
Nothing is better than when the cover is great and the book, itself, is equally as awesome!
Coffin Shadows is about a young teacher named Janet. She just found out she is pregnant and is unsure what she wants to do. She has a great job, house, and boyfriend but her past is creeping up on her. Literally. Janet begins to see a dead boy everywhere she goes. And of course, no one else can see him and she is starting to feel crazy. Is he a missing kid or her dead son all grown up?
At the request of her doctor, Janet goes back home to find out more about the night her baby died. Was it simply an accident or was evil afoot that night? Janet has not spoken to her parents since she ran away as a teen. She has no idea what happened that night and only has her parent’s word to go on. As she explores her old haunts, Janet begins to unravel a trail of lies and potential human sacrifice.
