Snow White's Shattered Coffin - This Tiny Chapbook Packs a Punch!
I picked up this signed and numbered Chapbook from It Came from Beyond Pulp. It is just a beautiful little piece of art. Cynthia Pelayo's vivid storytelling pairs perfectly with the incredible art of Vheto Gutierrez Vazquez. You will definitely want to scan each image you come across to take in the full effect.
This dark fairy tale touches on ghosts and curses. It plays on the acceptance and avoidance of death and the importance of observing and respecting all life around you, for we know not who might be watching and counting our indiscretions against us.
This is a super tiny and quick read at 23 pages, but it's really a wonderful little story. It reads like it belongs in a modern-day Grimm's Fairy Tales, while also having that special style that belongs to Cynthia Pelayo. I guarantee that when you read this, you'll never look at the seemingly insignificant ladybug in the same light.
