Alien Massacre - Move Over, Fear Street!
Scott Donnelly reached out to me to see if I was interested in checking out an ARC of his newest installment in the Mara Lane series, and of course I said yes!
I would classify Alien Massacre as a Young Adult novel that has some gory and murderous scenes. I feel certain that Donnelly is accumulating his own version of R.L. Stine’s Fear Street with his Mara Lane series, and I am all for that. Alien Massacre ties in with his novel Killer Scarecrow and opens up a world of possibilities on this haunted and brutal street.
This story follows Axel, literally a new kid on the block of Mara Lane, who meets neighbors haunted by the events found in Killer Scarecrow. He begins learning about the sordid past of his new home when he finds some mysterious items in his basement. As people start disappearing, Axel joins forces with his neighbors, Rhett and Dominic. Together they try to find the key to Mara Lane, and how to stop the newfound alien terror that is decimating the town… and honing in on them.
I love the heart that is brought to this grisly story. Donnelly touches on and authentically presents domestic abuse, PTSD, and the results of those things in Alien Massacre. I am looking forward to seeing the exhumation of new monsters and wicked pasts in the next Mara Lane books.
Alien Massacre is coming soon for purchase in 2022!
